A fun way to develop early speech and language skills including understanding and using feeling words, use of "I" when referring to oneself, use of a simple sentence "I am.....", sight word reading for "I" and "am", learning to read from left to right, and turning pages in a book.
Speech-language pathologist, Jill Hicks, developed this book and card set and uses it often in her private practice. Children relate to the simple line drawings and have fun making the corresponding facial expressions. This is a great way to encourage speech and language development for children who have emerging expressive language.
This set includes a downloadable 12 page book. It is recommended to print the book on 65 pound card stock. The finished book size is 5.5 inches by 5.5 inches. The card set consists of 8 face pictures to express various emotions and states of being (happy, sad, tired, mad, hungry, thirsty, hot, cold) and large text words "I" and "am". There is also a page of Printing Instructions, and two pages of Teaching Notes.

Help your child or students learn sound-letter matching and beginning decoding and encoding with these attractive letters. Children benefit from being able to feel and manipulate the clear, large-sized letters. This set of magnetic letters is special because it uses the Sassoon font, which research has shown to be the easiest font for children to learn to read. Consonants are red, vowels are blue, and a baseline helps children learn relative letter height (how letters sit in relation to one another). Great for use on a magnetic board, fridge, or any surface.
The 28 letter set includes an extra 'e' and an extra 's' for words like "see" and "kiss". A 56 letter set is also available.
