Hi. I'm Jill Hicks. I'm a mother, speech-language pathologist, and passionate about helping people with Down syndrome. As I look back on my life I can see how my life choices have woven together to bring me to the place I am today. Little did I know when I chose speech-language pathology as a career that 15 years later I would be blessed with my own child with Down syndrome and begin a journey of discovery. The great love I have for Hannah has overflowed into a passion to help others with Down syndrome flourish. Thank you for letting me be part of your journey of discovery.
I have been working not only with Hannah but with many children and youth with Down syndrome for many years. Each child I work with teaches me something. I constantly seek to find the best resources and techniques. I want to share this knowledge with you. I have been giving workshops for years and am very pleased to now be offering online workshops (webinars). Through the webinars you can gain the skills to most effectively teach your child or student.
I am the creator of Sign Sounds™ also known as Phoneme Touch & Say™, specially designed to help people with Down syndrome see, feel and make speech sounds. Sign Sounds™ is a powerful tool that people with Down syndrome embrace enthusiastically - it helps them make sense of speech!
